Ms. Aguanno graduated from New York Institute of Technology in Central Islip with a Bachelor of Sciences Degree (specialization in Criminal Justice) in 2001. She began her career in public service by working as a Counselor to developmentally disabled and mentally ill adults.

Ms. Aguanno also worked for several years as a Social Work Counselor with teenagers in Suffolk County's foster care system.

Ms. Aguanno attended law school at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. During that period of time she continued her dedication to the community by holding fundraisers and coat drives in the winter months for disadvantaged people in Cleveland.

Upon graduating law school in 2009, Ms. Aguanno was appointed to the position of Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney. During her tenure in the District Attorney's Office she has handled thousands of cases from the arraignment stage to the final disposition of the case. As a Prosecutor she has dealt with several high profile cases. Most recently, she was the Prosecutor on a case involving a subject who entered Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' East Hampton home. She has conducted dozens of pre-trial hearings which include hearings to determine whether police had probable cause for an arrest and whether a subject's right to remain silent was violated.

Ms. Aguanno has also conducted numerous bench and jury trials. She has handled cases involving animal cruelty, sex abuse, driving while intoxicated, assault, aggravated harassment, grand larceny, possession of a controlled substance, and many others. She is skilled in questioning a variety of witnesses ranging from police officers to civilian witnesses.

Ms. Aguanno continues to give back to the community by speaking to teenagers about Gang Violence and Prevention throughout Suffolk County. Upon leaving the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office she was awarded "Outstanding Prosecutor" for her two years of excellent service in the East End Bureau.
